Roughening of Wilson's surface

Description
We suggest that surface roughening, well known in three dimensions, also affects the computation of the Wilson loop in 4-D gauge theories. We propose an observable to locate this singularity. We also discuss the consequences of this singularity for actual calculations. (orig.)
