Description
As for inorganic chiral magnetic materials, it has been considered difficult to grow asymmetric single crystals whose crystal structure chirality is composed of only one-handed system. This study presented a solution of this problem by classifying substances to those that form racemic twins and those that cannot grow reverse-handed asymmetric single crystals even though one-handed system is automatically formed. It used CsCuCl3 to show that the stirring method is effective for forming racemic twins. It used transition metal silicide to show that the laser floating band method using an inclined sample rod is useful for growing an asymmetric single crystal of reverse handed single crystals. It introduced that the success of asymmetric single crystal samples led to research on the correlation between crystal structure chirality and magnetic structure chirality using X-ray structure analysis and polarized neutron diffraction. It is expected that the growth of asymmetric single crystals will enable the measurement of physical characteristics that has been difficult to carry out to date. (A.O.)
