Structure and dynamics of auroral protons and electrons with energies in tens and hundreds keV according to measurements on the ''Kosmos-900'' satellite

Description

A distribution structure of 50-506 keV protons and 50-210 keV electrons in an auroral zone during magnetic storm on 11-12.12. 1977 is analyzed. Latitude profiles of proton and electron fluxes have a nonstationary multimaximum structure. Coincidence of latitude profiles of protons (in the whole energy ranges) and electrons (with energies of up to 100 keV) has been detected in a number of lights. Latitude distributions of protons in evening and after-midnight sectors in a phase of restoration of storms often have two-maximum structure of a harder particle spectrum in a low-latitude zone. Possible mechanisms of formation of two-maximum structure of auroral protons are discussed. Dynamics of low latitude and high latitude boundaries of proton and electron precipitation depending on magnetic situation and local time is described
