Description
A uniform efficiency photon counter was developed by means of a plastic scintillator in conjunction with an aluminium filter. The efficiency was measured by using four radioactive sources, viz. 203Hg, 51Cr, 137Cs and 54Mn. The achievement of the uniform efficiency was ascertained by measuring the total (sum of coherent and incoherent) differential scattering cross section from Sn and Pb atoms, and comparing the results with calculated cross section values.
