Moessbauer measurements on the rectangular Ising compounds RbFeCl3 x 2H2O and CsFeCl3 x 2H2O

Description
Moessbauer experiments are reported on two magnetic chain compounds. Estimates of the crystal field splittings and the sign of Vsub(zz) are presented. The temperature dependence of the hyperfine field fits well by the 2D S = 1/2 rectangular Ising model. The low temperature value and orientation of the hyperfine field are discussed. (orig.)
