Eu2+ luminescence in KY3F10

Description
The luminescent properties of divalent europium in KY3F10 are investigated. Emission and excitation spectra and decay-time measurements are presented. The nature of the Eu2+ centres responsible for the observed luminescence is discussed. It is concluded that KY3F10:Eu2+ is a possible candidate for an ultraviolet solid state laser. (author)
