Description
Diagnosis of abdominal neuroblastoma by imaging techniques is demanding, and in most cases several complementary modalities are needed for correct staging. Ultrasonography is performed first, followed by contrast CT and/or MRI. Both skeletal and specific MIBG scintigraphy are essential in most cases. This applies not only for the primary diagnosis but also for monitoring the response to therapy and for picking up recurrent disease. (orig.)

Die Bilddiagnostik des abdominalen Neuroblastoms is anspruchsvoll und erfordert meist den Einsatz mehrerer, sich logisch ergaenzender Methoden, damit das Staging moeglichst genau durchgefuehrt werden kann. Nach der Sonographie als Primaeruntersuchung gelangen sowohl die Kontrast-CT als auch alternativ oder ergaenzend die Kernspintomographie zur Anwendung; im weiteren sind die Skelett- und/oder die spezifische MIBG-Szintigraphie im Rahmen der Erstdiagnostik unentbehrlich. Dasselbe gilt auch fuer Verlaufsuntersuchungen zur Beurteilung des Therapieerfolges oder zur Erfassung eines Rezidivs. (orig.)Additional details
