The effect of ultraviolet irradiation on reticulocyte count in the chicken
Description
The effect of a single dose ultraviolet irradiation with an energy output of 95.5x103 erg. cm-2. sn-1, on reticulocyte counts in 21 Golden comet hens was determined. Statistically, there was found no significance between the mean reticulocyte percentages obtained initially and at 24th hour after irradiation (P> 0.05). But, a decrease in hens showing a higher initial value (P< 0.05), and an increase in ones having a lower initial value (P< 0.01) were obtained
