Investigation into the possibility of existing and some properties of glasses in the Bi2O3-B2O3-Nd2O3 and Bi2O3-SiO2-Nd2O3 systems
Description
In order to produce new neodymium-alloyed glasses, the presence of vitrification regions has been studied in the systems Bi2O3-B2O3-Na2O3 and Bi2O3-SiO2-Nd2O3. The boundaries have been determined of vitrification regions, segregation and formation of crystalline compounds. The optical-physical properties of the glasses have been studied as a function of their chemical composition. It is found that the absorption line intensity is proportional to the neodymium concentration up to the content of Nd2O3=5%. The glass luminescence excited by irradiation with wave lengths corresponding to the intensive absorption lines has been studied
