Spin trap method. Radical products of γ radiolysis of liquid and solid tert.-butanol
- 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)
Description
Radical products of γ radiolysis of tert.-butanol have been studied by the EPR method with the use of spin traps (ST) at 30 and - 196 deg C. After γ irradiation at 30 deg C adducts of ST have been observed in the EPR spectra with the t-BuO, t-Bu,CH3, CH2(CH3)2C0H radicals and with H atoms. In tert.-butanol γ irradiated at -196 deg C only adducts of ST with CH2(CH3)2COH radicals are observed in the EPR spectra recorded at 30 deg C. It is shown that CH3 and t-Bu radicals arise as a result of secondary reactions of the t-BuO radicals and the adducts of the t-BuO radicals with some ST
