Description
IAEA verification activities related to uranium mines and mills should be directed inter alia at deriving a measure of assurance that production of source material is not understated. The Australian Safeguards Support Program (ASSP) is assisting the IAEA in developing verification approaches and techniques that could identify undeclared production at uranium mines, including use of environmental sampling during complementary access under Article 4.a.(i) of INFCIRC/540 to date production and determine the origin of material samples.
