Interlayer pair hopping

  • 1. Dept. of Physics, Princeton Univ., Princeton, NJ (USA)

Description

Interlayer Josephson pair tunneling was previously proposed as a pairing mechanism in layered high Tc superconductors. This kinetic energy pairing mechanism, which does not rely at all on a pairing interaction intrinsic to Cu-O layers, provides a possible explanation of some experimental results. The relevant experimental evidence and some new predictions of the theory are discussed
