Description

X-ray scattering method was used for studying the structure of liquid Bi-Te alloys, containing from 52 to 65 at.% Te, employing small concentration steps. The analysis of the obtained data has shown that in the range 52-60 at.% Te the preferred interaction of different kinds of atoms is the main feature of the structure. Bi2Te3-type complexes exist within this whole concentration range. Addition of Te to Bi2Te3 causes sharp changes in the concentration dependencies of the main structural parameters. When the concentration of Te is larger than 60 at.% Te-like short range order begins to prevail in the structure. (orig.)
