Microscopic study of local nucleus-nucleus potentials
Description
The WKB and RGM method for the calculation of the inter-nucleus potentials is treated. To make clear the basic standpoint of this method also other microscopic theories are reviewed. The reasons for large differences, for some properties, between different theories are discussed. These properties include (1) potential depth in relation to the Pauli forbidden region and the validity of the adiabatic treatment (2) energy and mass number dependence in relation to the various exchange contributions (3) comparison of potentials with light and heavy projectiles.
