Description
We report on high-statistics Monte Carlo simulations for pure SU(2) lattice gauge theory in the icosaeder subgroup approximation with fundamental-adjoint mixed action. We work in medium-sized volumes and investigate a large range of the scaling variable z2=m2+L where m2+ is the mass of the 2+ glueball state. The quantities are determined from Polyakov loop correlations. Universality of the finite volume theory is observed both for the string tension κ in units of the lattice Λ-parameter and for the mass ratios m0+/m2+ and √κ/m2+. (orig.)
