CO line profiles in cold interstellar clouds
Description
A problem of the correct interpretation of the CO line profiles in dark clouds is discussed. It is shown that such profiles can arise in collapsing microturbulent models when the excitation temperature increases towards the cloud boundary. The profiles computed for a spherically summetric cloud with a density falling as n(r)varies as r-2 outwards and with several variants of the collapse velocity radial dependence are presented. The results are compared with observations
