Technique for producing ultrathin polypropylene films

Description
A method is described for stretching commercially available polypropylene film to thicknesses in the range 0.2--1.0 μm. Such films are used as windows for soft x-ray proportional counters, gas absorption cells, energy-loss nuclear detectors, and high vacuum isolation
