Topical problems of nuclear third party liability law as a consequence of the Chernobyl disaster

The Chernobyl reactor accident and the consequences we had to cope with gave some hints as to the further development of the nuclear liability law, in order to enhance the protection of persons affected, and to make the necessary delimitation of the damage concept. The main items to be discussed include the building in of preventive measures into the liability provisions, the definition of the concept of damage, the volume of financial security, and the improvement of international nuclear liability system.
