Description
Toroidal effects on current drive by asymmetric reflection of synchrotron radiation are investigated. A generalized bounce averaged Fokker-Planck code, valid for arbitrary electron cyclotron harmonics, is used to evaluate the current drive efficiency in the presence of trapped electrons. It is shown that for reactor relevant parameters the deterioration of the efficiency due to trapping effects is at tolerable levels. (author). Letter-to-the-editor. 9 refs, 3 figs
