Extraction-chromatographic separation of indium from lead, tin and tellurium in the tri-n-octylamine-hydrochloric acid system

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

Extraction of In, Pb, Sn, and Te in the tri-n-octylamine (TOA) on Ftoroplast-4-HCl system has been examined. Optimal conditions for the extraction have been chosen: 0.5 M TOA in toluene, 6 M HCl in the extraction of Sn and Tl, 5 M LiCl+0.5 M HCl in the extraction of indium. Distribution of the elements in a chromatographic column has been studied under the conditions optimal for the solvent extraction. A scheme is suggested of extraction-chromatographic separation of the elements. Indium has been isolated from semiconductor alloys by extraction chromatography and determined by the atomic absorption technique
