Description

Experience in 137Cs radionuclide source incident response at the Bratsk wood-fiber plate plant in 1991 is described. It was shown that late information of the competent authorities resulted to the environmental contamination and personnel exposure. Main directions of the expert activities in incident response were the following ones: radiation monitoring, personnel external and internal dosimetry, decontamination, public relations. Medical treatment of the irradiated patients has shown that ferrocene decreases several times potential internal dose. 2 refs.; 4 tabs
