Does direct micronucleus measurement in radiotherapy patients permit a prediction of later irradiation responses in tissues of the oral mucosa?
Description
In the previous year we were able to show that there is no correlation between the micronuclei rate in lymphocytes at the onset of irradiation and the acute reaction. In the present analysis of late reactions, which is undoubtedly still of limited validity because of the short follow-up time, there was again no correlation to be found between the level of micronuclei prior to irradiation and the incidence of late reactions. Zwischen der vor Bestrahlungsbeginn bestimmten Raten an Mikronuklei in Lymphozyten und der Akutreaktion konnte kein Zusammenhang gezeigt werden, wie wir im letzten Jahr zeigen konnten. In der aktuellen Analyse der Spaetreaktion, die sicherlich aufgrund der kurzen Nachbeobachtungszeit noch eingeschraenkt gueltig ist, findet sich ebenfalls keine Korrelation zwischen dem Wert der Mikronuklei vor Bestrahlung und der Inzidenz der Spaetreaktion; die Inzidenzkurven werden im Vortrag gezeigt.
