Gas chromatographic analysis of products of aerosol thermal reactions in the Venusian cloud layer at the Vega-1, -2 landing spacecrafts
Description
The results of gas chromatographic analysis of the Venusian atmosphere carried out with the help of the Vega-1,-2 landing spacecrafts are presented. The experimental results obtained permit to conclude the following: the concentration of H2SO4 aerosol is much lower than 1 mg/m3 in the region of the Vega-1 spacecraft landing in the range of heights from 61.5 to 54 km (probably presence of chlorine-containing compounds makes concentration detection complicated). The average concentration for H2SO4 aerosol is detected to be 0.6+-0.1 mg/m3 in the region of the Vega-2 spacecraft landing at 61.5-54 km heights. In this case of sulfur presence the lower limit of H2SO4 content is 0.4+-0.1 mg/m3. The predicted estimation of sulfur aerosol is not less than 1 mg/m3
