Information report made on behalf of the Finance Committee on the French Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN) - Senate No. 629
Description
At a time when the French government has announced its objective of reviving nuclear power generation in France over the next few decades, the French nuclear system is set to undergo significant change. The capacities of the French Institute for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN), the public institution in charge of expertise and research into nuclear safety, must therefore keep pace with the challenges ahead. On May 24, Jean-Francois Rapin, special rapporteur for the 'Research and Higher Education' budget, presented the conclusions of his budget audit designed to verify this.
