  • 1. Waste Management Facilities, BARC Complex, Tarapur (India)

Description

As a matrix, cement has been adopted world wide for conditioning of various types of radioactive liquid wastes. This paper, deals with the studies carried out to finalise the cement formulation for WTF-5 waste and characterisation of cement waste products (CWP) with respect to compressive strength and chemical durability. Works carried out also covers the evaluation of CWPs made during cementation campaign and as core drilled sample after the campaign. The study had indicated the adoption of laboratory scale investigation on the plant scale level. (author)
