Description
A well-type scintillator with photomultiplier is described such that the well is formed between the first and the second scintillator faces. The photomultiplier .ohotocathode rests against the scintillator wall; the well longitudinal axis is parallel both to the photomultiplier photocathode and to the longitudinal axis of the scintillator, or is identical with it. The design makes it possible to select the optimal wall thickness along the entire well length, which improves the volume independence in measuring samples of various volumes. (J.K.)
