Study of the angular momentum distribution of compound nuclei obtained from fusion reactions close to the Coulomb barrier
Description
The effect of the mass asymmetry of the input channel on the compound nuclei spin distribution. The 16O + 144Nd and 80Se + 80Se reactions produce the same 160Er compound nucleus in the 38 to 68 MeV energy range. In certain cases, the incident energies required to form the compound nucleus, at the same excitation energies, are very close to the Coulomb barrier. In the experimental device, the 'Chateau de Cristal' multidetector and additional sensors are used. The angular momentum distribution of the different evaporation products are measured by gamma spectrometry techniques. The fusion cross sections are measured by the time-of-flight technique. Theoretical predictions and experimental results concerning the distribution of the compound nucleus angular momentum are compared

Le travail presente une etude sur l'influence de l'asymetrie en masse en voie d'entree sur les distributions en spin du noyau compose. Les systemes 16O + 144Nd et 80Se + 80Se sont etudies, afin de produire le meme noyau compose 160Er a des energies d'excitation allant de 38 a 68 MeV. Les energies incidentes necessaires pour former ce noyau compose aux memes energies d'excitation, dans certains cas, sont tres proches de la barriere Coulombienne. Le dispositif experimental utilise le multidetecteur 'Chateau de Cristal' et divers compteurs additionnels. Les distributions en moment angulaire des differents residus d'evaporation sont determinees a l'aide de techniques de spectrometrie gamma et les sections efficaces absolues de fusion mesurees par la technique du temps de vol. Les distributions en moment angulaire du noyau compose, deduites sur un large domaine d'excitation, ont ete confrontees aux predictions de differents modelesFiles
