Fluids and gases for the coolant flow simulation in engineering devices

Description

A survey of studies of velocity and pressure fields in complex NPP hydraulic tracks carried out for different channel configurations in air, water and mercury flows is given. The results of measurements of pressure pulsations on the channel wall with sudden eXpansion, with partial blockage of a cross section, with finning of one of the walls are analyzed. On the basis of analysis of the obtained data the conclusion is made that a flow of air or other gas at moderate velocities fully models fields of turbulent characteristics of dropping liquids when meeting the necessary similarity conditions formulated using the same scales for averaged and pulsation velocities and pressures
