Nuclear power plant construction in France

Description

The present state is described of the construction of nuclear power plants with PWR reactors in France, and knowledge presented which was gained during a visit to the 2x1300 MWe nuclear power plants in Saint-Alban and Belleville in 1985. Some technical data are given of the two power plants and their design is described. A survey is tabulated of the development of nuclear power in France at the end of 1984, which also includes the deployment of personnel in the process of the construction of the Saint-Alban nuclear power plant, and a flow chart is shown of the construction of the Belleville nuclear power plant and the amount of concrete compared which was used for the construction of the 4x440 nuclear plant and the 4x1300 MWe plant.
