Compounds of variable composition in Yb2O3-Bi2O3, Y2O3-Bi2O3 system

Description
Yb2O3-Bi2O3 and Y2O3-Bi2O3 systems are investigated using DTA and XRPA methods. Production of chemical compounds under the interaction of bismuth oxide and lanthanide is confirmed. It is revealed that LnBiO3 appears to be a variable com position (LnxBi1-x)2O3 phase. Homogeneity region based on this phase in Yb2O3-Bi2O3 system is present within 25-60 mol.% of Yb2O3 concentration interval, in Y2O3-Bi2O3 system-within 20-66 mol.% of Y2O3 interval. 5 refs.; 4 tabs
