Market status and chemical update of UV/EB cured silicone release coatings
Description
Recent developments of commercially available UV/EB curable silicone release coatings are discussed with detailed test results and new product opportunities. The advantages in using this curing method are emphasized and a chemical discussion is linked to the performance of UV/EB cured coatings illustrating the superior characteristics and outlining unique new usages. The inherent advantages of UV/EB curing (no solvents, no heat and no postcure) are covered with emphasis in areas of new applications. The new UV/EB cured silicone products offer standards of controlled release and provide avenues of new product development not previously available. (author)
