Paleoclimates and quaternary environments - What's new under the Sun?

Description

This publications gathers abstracts of contributions to a conference which addressed issues related to paleoclimate and quaternary environments. These contributions were presented during sessions which addressed the more specific following issues: new advances in dating methods; age models and multi-archives integration; climate variability during interglacial periods; abrupt climate changes and transitions and their regional impact; the Earth system during glacial maxima; the role and response of tropics in the Quaternary climate dynamics; interglacial Holocene; settlement, migration, relationships environment and cultures. Contributions about dating methods addressed the following issues: dating of sedimentary deposits and of markers at the Quaternary scale by means of atmospheric cosmogenic nuclides and in-situ products; carbonate dating by the U/Th and U/Pb methods; combined dating (Ar-40/Ar-39 and K/Ar) of the last eruptions of the Sancy massif; advances in luminescence dating for the tracing of coastal dynamics; electron spin resonance dating of fossil teeth; stake and methodology of dating by the ESR/U-Th method; installation and first results of ECHoMICADAS.
