Current state of controlled nuclear fusion

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Fizicheskij Inst.

Description

The modern state of stationary thermonuclear reactor development based on Tokamaks is reviewed. Unsolved Tokamak mystery (pseudoclassical electron thermoconductivity, disruptive instability, impurities transport, instability due to trapped ions) as well as parameter selection principles of future devices for break-even in the USSR, USA, West Europe, and Japan and CTR problems solution to the end of this century are discussed.
