Initial investigation of the natural radioactivity in the soil in some locations in Macedonia from radiation protection point of view

The external exposition on the human from the terrestrial radiation is directly connected with concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in the soil. The target of this paper was initial determination of the specific activity concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in the soil in Macedonia with gamma spectrometric measurements. For this purpose, samples of the undisturbed soil were taken from the more 20 locations on the 20 cm deep. The initial dose assessment from terrestrial was done. (Author)
