New proposals on clearance level inspection
Description
The Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (CRIEPI) was established in 1951 as a comprehensive research organization for the electric utility industry. Its missions are to conduct fundamental, pioneering research on the electric industry and to present the results of this research to the public for the benefit of all. In Japan, a new regulatory law regarding the clearance level is being prepared and will be enforced in the end of 2005. To make clearance level inspection reasonable and practicable, two new techniques have recently been proposed by CRIEPI. One is a new measuring method for gamma emitters using 3D shape measurement with a laser scanner and Monte Carlo calculation techniques. The other is a new approach to uncertainties for the measurement and estimation of nonmeasurement nuclide in clearance level inspection. (author)
