Algal genetic systems as sensors for radiation detection

Description
Numerous attempts were made to create biosensors for the detection of a variety of signals. However, no biosensor for radiation detection has been developed that would be suitable for field applications. We have generated a collection of potentially radiation-responsive genetic elements from cyanobacteria for their use in mix-and-match application-driven configurations of biosensors. Use of different biosensor system elements is discussed
