Description
The synergism in the extraction of Ce3+, Am3+ and Eu3+ with a mixture of 2-ethylhexyl-2-ethylhexyl phosphonic acid and dinonyl naphthalene sulphonic acid solvents in dodecane from perchlorate, thiocyanate and nitrate media is reported. The distribution data of these ions from individual solvents and their mixtures at a constant concentration of one of the solvent is tabulated. The order of extraction in all the media is Eu > Ce > Am. The distribution ratio with respect to media followed the order perchlorate > nitrate > thiocyanate. The strong complexing effect of Am with thiocyanate is reflected in the distribution ratio values. (author). 3 refs., 2 tabs
