High resolution laser-atomic beam spectroscopy in GdI

Description
High resolution laser-atomic beam spectroscopy has been applied to investigate 15 optical transitions starting from the ground 4f75d6s2 a9DJ0 multiplet of GdI. The transitions have been chosen in order to obtain more complete information about isotope shift and hyperfine splitting of the excited 4f75d6s6p z9FJ and z9DJ multiplets. On the basis of the experimental results the hyperfine splitting constants of the excited levels and the J-dependence of the isotope shifts of all investigated multiplets have been deduced. 21 refs.; 2 figs.; 3 tabs
