Experience of exposed fuel bundle
Description
This paper reports on the experience of exposed fuel bundle at Shimane Atomic Power Plant. The reactor of this plant is a BWR type reactor of 460 MWe. The reactor has been operated safely for 3 years. The reasons of this long term safe operation are the slow raise of output power, the regulated pattern of control rods to reduce the local peak, and the condenser filter to remove particle crud. The amount of deposited crud is small, and the maximum line power output is small. Then, the temperature at the center and surface of fuel can be reduced. It was found that the crud deposit on fuel cladding, especially on replaced fuel, was few. The amount of deposit seems to depend on void distribution. It is considered that future deposit is not much. (Kato, T.)
