Description
In the present study, indoor radon and thoron measurements have been carried out in 100 dwellings of 20 villages situated in the Fazilka district of Malwa region of Punjab. These measurements were done using LR-115 type II based Radon-Thoron discrimating twin-cup dosimeters. These dosimeters were hanged for a period of four months of winter season i.e. from October 2014 to February 2015. The radon concentration varies from 26.6 Bq/m3 to 65.3 Bq/m3 which lies well within the safe limits recommended by ICRP. The average inhalation dose was also assessed which also lies below the recommended safe limits. (author)
