Description

A systematic investigation of 3 Me V proton irradiated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) has been carried out using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). It is observed that there is no significant change in the stability of the PET up to the fluence of 1014 ions/cm2 as revealed by TGA and FTIR spectroscopy. It appears from DSC studies that the melting temperature decreases as fluence increases. (author)
