Description

The improvement on the design and operation of the WWER-440 nuclear fuel is one of the field where significant evolution has been during the last years. The major improvements which were implemented in Slovak WWER-440 type reactors are discussed. The requirements of the UJD SR are summarized concerning progressive fuel management strategies. The requirements are connected with the reactor safety including new fuel utilization, reload design and start up experiments. (author)
