Investigation of corrosion behavior of 08Kh14MF steel in solutions for chemical washing

Corrosion behaviour of 08Kh14MF steel (chemical composition, (%): C-0.05-0.10; Si-0.20-0.45; Mn-0.80-1.20; Cr-13.0-14.8; Mo-0.2-0.4; V-0.13-0.15; Ce-0.02-0.04; S - not more than 0.02; P - not more than 0.035) under the effect of solutions for chemical washing is investigated. It is shown that washing by one solutions results in activation and considerable corrosion losses of the steel. In other solutions the steel is passive that ensures the least corrosion losses and effective use of solution. The obtained data may be used to provide the admitted corrosion losses in washing which value is determined accounting concrete service conditions of heat exchange equipment
