Two-dimensional scattering theory and surface recombination rates of spin-polarised hydrogen and deuterium

Data on the surface recombination rates of spin-polarised hydrogen and deuterium above liquid helium can be faithfully reproduced by a theory in which the rate-determining process in each case is spin exchange occurring through atom-atom collisions in two-dimensional space. (author)
