Description
Oxygen compounds of rare earths and rhenium in different degrees of oxidation are considered in the review in succession. Synthesis conditions, physicochemical properties, thermal stability and polymorphism are discussed for each class of compounds in regard of the structure of these compounds. Main regularities typical of rhenium and other transient element compounds in the highest degree of oxidation are revealed. It is shown that a distinct tendency to the formation of ReO4 tetrahedral complexes is observed in neutral perrhenates, in oxoperrhenates - to the formation of fluorite-live motives; as to rhenium in the lowest degrees of oxidation, a tendency to produce clusters with the formation of metal-metal bonds is observed
