Using of thermal solar energy in desalination of saline water for green bean irrigation with application of nuclear techniques

Description

A solar distiller is a very simple device to transform saline water into suitable water for many uses. In this study, to evaluate the active solar still coupled with evacuated tubes and produce suitable water for green bean cultivation, two experiments were conducted: the first one was manufactured in the Soil and Water Research Department, Nuclear Research Center, located at Inshas, Atomic Energy Authority, Egypt. The second experiment was manufactured in Agricultural Engineering Department at Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, Egypt. A single slope solar still coupled with a solar evacuated tube collector as a water heater was conducted to produced pure water. A passive single slope solar still and active single slope solar still combined with a solar evacuated tube collector were studied under some parameters. In addition to evaluate the both systems and produce pure water to use it to mix the produced water with saline water for green bean cultivation. Pure water mixed with saline water to reduce salinity then using the mixed water to irrigate Green Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cv Bronco plants in pots experiment in addition to irrigate green bean plants is pot experiment under three water regimes (100% WHC, 80% WHC and 70% WHC) and use 15N isotope technique to trace the distribution of nitrogen in plants part
