Physical parameters associated with the dielectric breakdown of MgO crystals at high temperatures
Description
Dielectric breakdown is a serious problem in the application of insulating materials at high temperatures in electric fields. The mechanisms involved depend on the material and conditions such as temperature, geometry, electric field, ambient atmosphere, electrode material, and impurity content. Electrical breakdown, therefore, is a complicated phenomenon. In this work, the authors studied the prebreakdown electrical characteristics induced by these parameters individually. The results are found to be compatible with the double injection model
