Description
Recent data on π production in NN collisions are compared to predictions from the Deck model. It is shown that the model fails spectacularly for Δsigmasub(L) (pp -> NNπ) and for the Asub(LL) parameter. This is typical for conventional π-exchange models. However, the Deck model with an admixture of a dibaryon resonance (I = 1, Jsup(P) = 3-) leads to a satisfactory description of the data. (orig.)
