Static response of secondary circuit piping with a large circumferential through-crack
Description
A procedure is proposed to determine the static response of the steam and feedwater lines outside the hermetic zone at the Mochovce-1 reactor unit if the piping is degraded by a large circumferential through-crack. The procedure is based on linear elastic fracture mechanics. The plastic joint so created is modelled by a non-linear spring. Qualified assessments of the tilt angle and spring toughness were made.
