Description

The method for measuring plasma currents induced during high-current relativistic electron beam injection into gas are described. A sectional collector made of an aluminized lavsan film, being transparent for a primary electron beam, is used to measure plasma currents. A flowsheet of carrying out the experiment, main elements of which are a drift chamber, an anode foil, a relativistic electron beam receiver with Ti foil, and a moving plasma current receiver, is presented. Experimental data obtained permit to make a conclusion that it is possible to investigate dynamics and geometry of a plasma channel by the methods above
